Assembly Orders - Scrap & Replace Components

Hi

We are using Assembly order functionality with Advanced warehouse management in Business Central

We have an assembled item set-up that is basically a labelling and packaging operation - we have a product, that we add a label to and then place in a carton to make the assembled item.

Assembled Item - 1 off

BOM

Product A - 1 off

Label - 1 off

Carton - 1 off

On many occasions we have labels / cartons that become damaged and cannot be used. Is there a way using assembly orders that you can either issue replacement components or over consume the assembled quantity when posting completed assembly order to that it manages the inventory (actual used quantity) of the component items correctly?

I have the same question (0)

    Phil,

Your not the first person asking this question... When you create an Assembly Order the Lines are that of the BOM Items and quantities. So if the line reflect Label with a QTY = 1, the Quantity to Consume = 1. You can add new Item lines, to the Assembly Order, consuming more of the quantity. See my pic below adding the last line.

After adding the new line I can produce Warehouse Pick for additional.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Thanks Steve.

I assume that we just need to manually manipulate the Qty per on the added lines so it generates the correct number of component items that we need to replace?

    Phil,

You are correct. In my pic you noticed that I needed 1 so my Quantity per = .1, since my normal is 10.

    Thanks,

    Steve
