Office 2010 is not the problem; I run Office 2010 along with GP and have the 2003 Web Components installed.

Is there an error displayed where the Metrics should be?

There is no other option for your case other than the Office it self and the Office Web Components (OWC), if you installed OWC11 and restarted with the same issue, reinstall the office and reinstall the OWC11, make sure that you are installing the OWC from the following location, keeping in mind that no matter your office version was, OWC11 for office 2003 will fix mentioned error:

Please make sure you are logged in as someone with full admin rights to the local drive and insrtall OWC 2003 last. Launch GP while still logged in with admin rights and the metrics will be there. After that you will be able to lg in as any user and the metrics will be there.
