Marketing List Members View can only be set to My Active Contacts - not Active Contacts

When I create marketing lists for the contact entity, I can not see the all contacts I add to the list.

The Properties for the List set the Default view to My Active Contacts. I would like to see all Active Contacts on the list. Otherwise there migth be many contacts on the list and a user can only see their own portion of the contacts (the portion they own).

When I change the setting, it changes back.

First error message: " The column span of the sub-grid must be less than or equal to the number og colums in the section."

Second Error message: "An error has occured. Please return to the homepage and try Again"

I have two different organisations. Same problem.

Any suggestions?

    Hi Marianne,

I have exactly the same problem.  Did you ever find the solution?

    Thanks.

    Hi Marianna, Chibby,

The error says the view you're using has too many columns for this. I'd suggest creating a new view that brings back all active contacts, but only include the basic columns. This should get rid of the error and let you pick the contacts you need.

If this helps I'd appreciate if you would mark this as a Verified answer.

    Thanks,

     Aiden

I did get it to work. Had a support session with MS though.

When editing the form for the marketing list, the Members section (in the middle) displays 3 Fields with the label Contacts. They are not all Contacts though. There is one for leads - one for accounts and one for contacts. I had gotten mine scrambled up.

    Hi,

I do have the same scenario.

And what's worse, it came to that moment where I can't open the Marketing List form editor and keep telling that "an error has occurred".

    Any solution?

aside from importing the default solution (because I already tried it and doesn't work)

or do I really need to contact the MS support now.

I'm experiencing this exact same issue, what did you do exactly to get it working, nothing seems to work for me. I believe this is a CRM bug which should be fixed by Microsoft sometime soon.

The marketing list form is a little unique and has had these issues dating back to 2013 and earlier.  In short - you can't really tweak the subgrids for accounts/contacts/leads at all.  If you remove them, you cannot re-add them without restoring the form from a backup.  I'm wondering if it has to do with the relationship between a marketing list and a (contact/lead/account) being Many:Many vs 1: many.   Since the subgrids are the only default instance of a Many:Many, I'm not surprised there are some restrictions about editing them. So they look and act like any other subgrid we've seen, but they in fact are based on a different type of link, and thus you can't really mess with them without using some javascript.
