Hello,
is it possible to connect another db to dyn365 on prem to show for example order data or grad on a account form
In the moment I load all the data from the other system via a c# script in the dyn365 database. But I heared that it's possible that in 365 its not necessary anymore and you can connect foreign system table for example as entitys. is this true?
Thx for the info. I will check this
Hi,
Yes, it calls Virtual Entities.
Developers can implement plugins to read external data using the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Web Services and Customer Engagement Plug-in Registration tool.
System customizers use Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises) to configure the data source record and create virtual entities that are used to access external data without writing any code.
End users work with the records created by the virtual entity to view the data in fields, grids, search results, and Fetch XML-based reports and dashboards.
Please refer to the documentation:
docs.microsoft.com/.../create-edit-virtual-entities
Have a look at virtual entities docs.microsoft.com/.../create-edit-virtual-entities
I think you need On-Prem version 9 for this feature.
