AX 4.0 Multiple Active Ledger Periods

(0) ShareShare

We had a user add ledger periods for 2018. When she added them, she marked them all as active periods. Is it ok for me to just mass update them to not active in the database? or is there something else that needs to be done from the frontend? Could this have caused any transactions to get posted to wrong periods? I can't find any fields in transaction type tables that appear to be connected to the LedgerPeriod table.

    Hi REP_CM,

When there are open periods in future, then indeed it would be possible to post in those periods.

The status can be changed, to prevent posting in future periods. The status should be set to 'On hold' or 'Blocked'. I don't know which exact word was used in AX4.

How do I query the transactions to know if any were posted in future periods?

    Hi REP,

The date determines the period. So you have to use a filter on a certain date range. E.g. "01-01-2017..31-12-2018" or based on locals: "01-01-2017..12-31-2018"
