Project beginning balances - sheet other than the starting balance

Hi,

What will be the consequences of posting the opening balance of projects not in the beggining balance sheet, but in the expense sheet? The customer wants the opening balance transactions to be reflected in the general ledger. The topic applies to "spending" transactions only.

Hi Anika,

There is no consequence. The project opening balances feature is intended to post project transactions without ledger updates. If you need ledger updates, then indeed you can use the normal journals. You might choose for a single date to record all these transactions. Depending on the exact requirements, they can be posted on the first day or the last day in a previous fiscal year.
