CRM Bulk Edit : Account Name lookup field disabled

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

Hello,

I'm trying to bulk update my contacts to set their account name field, however, I find this lookup field disabled in the bulk edit form. I understand that this happens when there is an enabled event on the lookup field. I checked the Contact form and found that there are no events associated with that field.

How can I know which event is causing that field to be disabled?

And no event associate to it:

Thanks,

SB

    Hi Necdet,

Thanks a lot for your reply. The article mentions that the reason behind the field being disable is that it has an onchange event, but in my case there is none.

I prefer to let altering the xml be my last resort, but I would like to know why I am having this field disabled although i have no event attached to it.

    Thanks,

    SB

    Hi SB User;

In general, lookup control will be disabled if one of the following conditions is true:

1- Field is protected by the FLS and user does not have create or update privilege when creating or updating the record
2- User does not have Append privilege for the child entity (the one being edited)
3- User does not have Append To privilege for the parent entity (the one being looked up)

RE: CRM Bulk Edit : Account Name lookup field disabled

    Hi Necdet Saritas,

Thanks for the information, I appreciate your help. However, I still have to do more research to find out the reason, since this lookup field is only disabled in Bulk Edit and not elsewhere, so I doubt that it is a security issue.

    Thanks again,

    SB
