Guys,

Would like to check, i am running weighted average inventory costing method.

I run inventory closing month end to re-calculated my weighted average inventory cost.

I would like to ask, after my inventory closing, will my weighted average cost updated into my item cost price form as below?

I have check it will not updated into the item cost price form. Wonder is there a parameter to turn on or how can i achieve to update my month end weighted average cost into the item cost price form

Hi Dexin,

Do you have the latest purchase and cost price parameters active in your item master?

They can make the automatic updates you are looking for.

Yet, the question is for what reason you need that?

I have seen quite some companies that make especially use of the latest purchase price update parameter because they use it as a benchmark to compare it with the item cost price that Dynamics calculates when running the inventory close.

Irrespective of that, before activating those parameters think twice whether you really need that because you can quickly make this form / table full with data and the system slow as it will grow and grow over time.

Hi Dexin,

The form you shared, is used by the Fixed price costing method. When you are using the weighted average, this form is not used and not updated.

Hi Andre,

I did run test yesterday and form got populated with latest purchase price @ FIFO controlled item. Is it only not getting populated with WA items? Haven't run test but i expect same behavior as with Fifo, can understand that's it will be different for Fixed price (standard cost).

Thanks for your info.

I notice once i turned on the updated latest purchase price and update latest cost. The price will update into the item price form.
