How do you find custom activities without attachments

I'm using Dynamics CRM 365 Online and the advanced find to try and locate all "custom" entity records that DON'T have a file attached.  I can locate the ones with attachments using the Note(Regarding) > File Size (Bytes) Is Greater Than or Equal To 1.  BUT if I change it to Is Less Than or Equal To 0, I get no results.  I know the activities exist because I created some test ones with attachments.

What am I doing wrong?

    Hi,

As you understand that ...if notes record has not been created ...means there is no link between note and the registration form.....

and  I dont think you can find it out by advanced find ... if there is no link between entities...means if there is no link between registration form and notes .....

You can only query if you have a link between both entities.... or else you have to do it by coding ..

    Thanks!

    Hi TNS,

Sorry for the delay.  I tried your suggestion but still don't get any results.

If I reverse File Name from Does Not Contain Data to Contains Data, it will show the records that have attachments.

It almost seems like there isn't anything to look for because the note itself doesn't exist until the attachment is added.  Is there a way to query my "Registration Form" activities that don't have "Notes" ASSOCIATED/LINKED with them?

    Thanks,

    RW

no you will not find the annotation entity here ... its a metadata name of notes entity... Ok if you are doing with advanced find and your custom entity is of activity type.....which have the notes section where you can have attachment...

firstly the notes is a different entity.... and if you want to find the records in which there is not any file attached in notes section of record.... you have to take care that the notes record is created or not.. e.g.:

If I have a record name A and in the notes section of A I have not attached the file and in the description also I have not written anything means my record of note has not been created. So please check firstly you have created  note record for particular record or not ... and if you have done so ... then in the advanced find :

Look for select note entity and then below it select first condition where file name does not contain data or file size equals 0 any of the condition you want ... and below it select the subclause of the regarding custom entity ...and you will get the result..

    hope it helps !

    Hi TNS,

Your understanding is correct.  One additional comment to add though but I don't know if matters.  The custom entity is configured as an activity.  I'm trying to create a new View using the Advanced Find tool.

I don't see an "annotation" entity in the drop down, see screenshot below.

Where do I find the "annotation" entity?

    Thanks,

    rw

    Hi,

As I understand you have a custom entity .. and it contains a note section and you have to find those records in which the note section does not contain any attachment ....If this is condition so you can try it like:

as your note section is annotation entity.. so you can put a query in annotation entity where object id will be your custom entity records id ... and select the subject and filename column from annotation entity .... if file name is null ... so any file is not attached ... and get that record..

    hope it helps.

    Thanks!
