Subgrid losing inline edit

Here's my problem: I need to customize "STAKEHOLDERS" subgrid on opportunity form. If I create a copy of "All Stakeholders" view and use it instead of the default data source in the "STAKEHOLDERS" subgrid then "Add New" button disappears and all fields in the subgrid become static, non-editable. I really appreciate any help with this. For me it looks like a bug. I really don't change anything in "All Stakeholders" view, just save it under different name and try to use it. So there's no reason for "Add New" button to disappear and to all fields become non-editable. My CRM version is Dynamics CRM 2013, 6.0.0.809.

    Hi Michael,

    It is actually unable to edit the inline gridview, the only way is to Save As, no Save function, just Save As function to create another new view, cannot modify the existing one.

    Are you sure that you lost the "All Stakeholders" view?

    Or currently you are using the copy of "All Stakeholders" view? Because there is no way to update or modify and save without saving as new view for this kind of view.

    Thanks.

    Hi Aileen,

    I'm trying to use the copy of "All Stakeholders" view. If I change the data source of the "STAKEHOLDERS" subgrid to this new copy, the subgrid lose its ability to add new item and to edit fields inline. This is too bad because I need to customize this subgrid. I guess it's not possible. If anybody has a solution to it I would appreciate it very much.

    Hi Michael,

    Yes.

    You cannot modify the inline grid.

    You should create 'your own inline editable grid', I tried before for Quote Product detail.

    Hi Michael,

    As far as i remember, the "All Stakeholders" view is kind of a special view, just like the view providing inline edit for product lines on the opportunity. In fact, it's not the subgrid which is inline editable, it's the view. (probably link between inline editing logic and view is hardcoded).

    So, as far as loosing the inline editing of your subgrid, this is "normal". About your "add new" button, i'm not sure about this, but my guess is in this particular case, button is also linked to the view... you should still have button to add connections in your ribbon which will have the same effect.

    apparently the "Add New" ("+") button is gone if I change the data source of the subgrid. Instead I have the "List associated records" button which opens corresponding system view.  Not good at all (;
