Forwarded email synch

Hello, 

I have set sever syde sync on my O365 mailbox.

The sync works fine if I send an email directly to my mailbox address.

But if one email message is automatically forwarded to my mailbox by another (external) mailbox, the message is not synched on the CRM.

The scenario is the following:

O365 mailbox: mailbox@tenant.onmicrosoft.com

External mailbox: external@server.com

The external mailbox has a rule that automatically forwards emails with a specific subject to the O365 mailbox.

In this case email are not synched on the CRM.

Is there a way to make things working in case of forwarded email?

    Has anyone found a solution for this.

    My scenario is the following (also posted on FB but there might be people here not reading that group).

    problem@contoso.com is being retired and replaced by service@contoso.com so the problem@contoso.com address is being forwarded by Exchange to service@contoso.com.

    The problem-emails (no pun intended) are not being read into CMR (Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement....) since the service@contoso.com email address is not present in to, from or cc fields.

    Is the only solution to kill problem@contoso.com email box and replace it with an alias? It's sort of sucks to have to delete all the legacy emails.

    I for one would like to be able to read all emails into CRM from a mailbox, maybe with a chekbox saying "import mails that doesn't have this email address in the to field" or something but I believe that's not going to happen.
