Close Cases Via Import (Solution)

Hi,

I have been finding ways of closing cases that I have recently imported (new system) and I seem to have found a way. Just wanted someone to let me know if this procedure was acceptible. 


I created an excel file with the following fields:

  1. Case reference (this field is a Unique identifier in the case table, custom field)
  2. Status Reason (Closed)
  3. Staus (Completed) 
  4. Time Spent (this is a whole number)
  5. Reason (I have inserted an std statement ‘Legacy Case closed while import’
  6. Company (link to Identify the customer)


I create an import to the ‘Case Resolution’ table, mapping the relevant fields (Case and Customer were lookup fields).


I run the import and the cases were resolved.

Note:

- In my real scenario there were no open activities, so no issues were encountered.

- In a test case, I created some activates and did not complete it and ran the import, after the import all open activities were flagged as cancelled.

    Hi,

    Create one custom entity while creating the record on the custom entity write workflow to resolve the case which will fire on record creation. import data on the custom entity through excel.
