I have been finding ways of closing cases that I have recently imported (new system) and I seem to have found a way. Just wanted someone to let me know if this procedure was acceptible.
I created an excel file with the following fields:
- Case reference (this field is a Unique identifier in the case table, custom field)
- Status Reason (Closed)
- Staus (Completed)
- Time Spent (this is a whole number)
- Reason (I have inserted an std statement ‘Legacy Case closed while import’
- Company (link to Identify the customer)
I create an import to the ‘Case Resolution’ table, mapping the relevant fields (Case and Customer were lookup fields).
I run the import and the cases were resolved.
Note:
- In my real scenario there were no open activities, so no issues were encountered.
- In a test case, I created some activates and did not complete it and ran the import, after the import all open activities were flagged as cancelled.
