Hi,

I need to create field security profile for 1 field.

But that field value should be seen only by the owner of the record, and the owner shouldbe a salesperson. And it should be seen only by the sales manager who is in the same business unit of that record's owner business unit.

With field security alone I cannot do this because field security profile is created for a specific set of users or team.

But my requirement is a little different.

Can anyone help with options available to implement this?

Hi,

Our team analyzed your requirements and as you mentioned the field security profile can only be added for specific users or teams. So our team came up with the idea of using field security profile + business rule. However, after our testing, since the business rule can only add specific roles when adding the owner of record judgment condition, this idea can't fulfill your requirement either.

Here is an alternative solution from our team
You can copy the Sales person security role and change the scope of the specific entity to User level, then you can assign this security role to all the people in your BU except the manager, so that the records created by User A can't be viewed by User B.

Other security roles with higher privileges for this entity can view the records created by User A and User B.
In fact, this scenario does not fully satisfy your needs because records created by User A and B can still be viewed by other users in the organization who have higher privileges.
