ReportReport

Hi all,

Trying to think of best way to design a view in CRM similar to this excel sheet.

Basically each user will have dates set that will match one or more month columns. I need to be able to have a similar view or iframe that will provide a similar view from a group of dates. I have considered having these fields then via code create a value in the corresponding field depending on the date of the associated records. I don't like to do this however can't think of a way to display it where the User gets a similar experience to excel sheet.

I'd suggest using a reporting services report to display this data - you should be able to use a matrix for this.

Alternatively, you could create an Excel Template that receives the raw data, and converts it into a pivot table

An Excel Template would be a fairly straightforward way of achieving this for you

You could make a custom web resource using the below.  It's very easy to implement.

If you want such a view on your CRM Form, you would need to build your own custom web-resource. And then have the logic implemented through script or plugins/workflows.

Another way would be create a separate entity. Each row in that excel will be an entity record. So you would have attributes such as User, ID, Phone, email, Member, Jan, Feb....Dec.

And then, have a 1:N or N:N relationship with the entity where you want this view.

    And then implement editable grids.

Though messy & not the ideal, this is an easier way to achieve it than custom web-resources.
