    Hi,
I discussed this in a thread last September, it might help you also: https://community.dynamics.com/forums/thread/details/?threadid=6f5714f5-5473-ef11-a671-0022482a08f6

Yes, you can add custom placeholders in work item instructions in Dynamics 365 Guides or Dynamics 365 Field Service (Work Orders) by using variables or custom fields. Here’s how you can do it:

Solution: Adding Custom Placeholders in Work Item Instructions

    1. Using Work Order Incident Types (Field Service)

    • Navigate to Field Service > Settings > Incident Types
    • Add or edit an Incident Type and define custom placeholders in the description using dynamic values like {CustomerName} or {AssetName}.
    • In the Work Order form, use these placeholders in instructions.
    • Use Power Automate to replace placeholders with actual values when generating instructions.

    2. Using Custom Fields in Work Order Instructions

    • Open Power Apps and navigate to the Work Order entity.
    • Add a custom field (e.g., new_CustomPlaceholder).
    • Update the Work Order Form and insert this field into instructions.
    • Use Business Rules or Power Automate to populate the placeholder dynamically.

    3. Using Power Automate to Replace Placeholders

    • Create a Power Automate flow triggered when a Work Order is created.
    • Use a Replace() function in a Compose action to replace placeholders with actual values.
    • Update the Work Order Instructions field with the processed text.

    Outcome

With this setup, work item instructions can dynamically display relevant details like customer names, asset details, or technician instructions, improving efficiency.

Would you like a step-by-step guide on implementing a specific approach?

@Saif Ali Sabri this is D365 F&O, not D365 Guides or D365 Field Service, and won't work in this case.
If you can share your ChatGPT prompt we can help you fix it, and show you how to verify in D365 F&O.
