What is the proper place to get the customers aging in excel? Can some one explain the difference between AR Trial Balance, AR Aging and the customers balances in in Smartlist.

Do you mean there is a difference between 1 and 2 shown below ?
If so, it depends on the criteria and parameters you consider int he report, the first one is not modifiable and consider the aging until current date, while the other one has options, which means you can change the cut of date (as of which receivables are aged) and other options.
Otherwise, the retrieve the same data from the same source, difference parameters can retrieve difference balances
The aging report.
What is the other report on which the numbers are different ?
I just ran the Aged Trial Balance w/ Options. With In detail unchecked. Account Type Open Item. All but Zero Balance checked. The range is from first to last customer ID. I just checked the form and it is not modified.
The core of the posts above is that AR Trial balance and AR Aging are the same. You reach them through (Reports > Sales > Trial Balance ), there are four different option:
- Aged Trial Balance
- Aged Trial Balance with Options
- Historical Aged Trial Balance
- Quick Aged Trial Balance
In this essence, can you specify further which ones you are talking about ? Is it possible that you have a customized AR Aging report ?
Thanks for the reply. What would cause AR Trial Balance and the AR Aging to have different totals in all aging buckets and the total?
Hello there,
Receivable Transaction Smart list
The receivable transaction smart list list all the AR transactions (Invoices, Debit Memo, Credit Memo, Finance Charges, Warranty, Cash Receipt ...etc) with associated details, it is much like a raw data that needs further manipulation to get certain information out of.
Aging report\ Trial balance
As for the AR Aged trial balance (Trial balance and Aging which are the same), it categories a specific customer / or customers transaction under several aging buckets, these aging buckets are predefined according to a specific cut off date. Aging buckets could be (0-30, 31-60, 61-90 and 90-over). At the bottom of the Aged trial balance, the customer balance is provided, according to the cut off date parameter (which you passed when you printed the report)
>> The difference between AR Aged trial balance and Receivable smart list is the way data is represented.
Customer Balance Smart list
Now the customer balance smart list provides the "current" customer balance as calculated based on all the AR transactions, so the cut off date is considered as "today".
To get an aging report into Excel, the pivot table functionality of Excel makes the difference, check this out by Ms. Belida. Excel - AR Trial Balance
Your feedback is highly appreciated,
AR Trial Balance and AR Aging are one and the same. The Customer Balance in SmartList comes from a single field in the Customer Master Summary table and is calculated and updated by the system.
If you want an Aging you can dump into Excel, then you need to run either the SSRS Aged Trial Balance or Excel Report Aged Trial Balance, either of which can be found under SSRS Reports or Excel Reports in the Navigation Pane when focused on the Sales Module.
