What is the difference between the Void All function and Delete All function used during a check run? My understanding is that the Void All treats the check as if it never existed and the Delete All function deletes the batch but keeps the vouchers. Is this correct?

Hi Vicki,
Your best option for a manual is probably the PDF User Guides which are available from the Install executable. I should note however, that they are identical to the Help Documentation. So if the Help Documentation is not providing you with the answers you are looking for, the User Guides probably won't either.

To add a bit more information to Scott's reply and to confirm, the delete option preserves the time entered and does not register the check numbers that are deleted meaning you can use those check numbers over again. The void option also preserves the time entered but it flags those checks as voided checks meaning those check numbers are no longer available for a subsequent check run. What I teach my clients is that they want to delete when the physical check was never printed and they want to use void when it was printed but printed incorrectly such that the physical check is no longer available.
One other note: while the void check option on the check update preserves the entered time, if you keep the check and then use the void check screen, the time associated with the voided check is not returned to an unpaid status like it is with the void check option on the check update process.
Thank you so much AlohaScott! One final question if I may. I've looked in our help documentation - we apparently have no manual in my office. Does such a manual exist or should I continue trying to find what I need with the Dynamics help section? Thank you again. Vicki
Aloha,
Use Delete All in cases where there was an issue with printing. Delete All will treat the checks as if they were never printed. Void All will void the checks and check numbers, and require you to reselect them.
From the help documentation…
• Delete — Do not update the database with the information of the current check; appears as if the check had never been printed.
• Void — Void, rather than delete, the information of checks just printed. The software retains the information of the checks in the database but assigns a void status to each check.
Hope this helps.
