Vote here to prevent CRM dialog being depricated

Like many other Companies and ISVs, we have many customers whose CRM systems heavily rely on CRM Dialogs. As many of you may already be aware, Microsoft has decided to deprecate CRM dialog and it has been suggested that Business Process Flow and Mobile Task Flow are the replacement for Dialogs.

First of all, Mobile Task Flow as the name suggests its only for mobile and it does not have all the features of the Dialog, like the Query Data for example. There are many other features of dialog not available in MTF or BPF. So there is a huge feature gap here.

Since Microsoft listens to customer feedback and change their decisions, i think we all should vote or give our feedback to keep the dialogs.

If you agree, please visit the following link :  https://ideas.dynamics.com/ideas/dynamics-crm/ID0002116

Thanks

    Hey Kokulan,

Dialogs are a powerful tool to provide user guidance in your implementations and I am sad that they are going away.

Would like to point out one thing though: 'Mobile Task Flow' will soon just be 'Task Flow' and is coming to the desktop/browser experience in an upcoming release, to replace dialogs. You can already see them in the unified UI.

As more parts of Dynamics will start to embrace the new unified UI, we can start letting our customers adopt it on mobile and desktop (browser) giving them all the power of Task Flows, on any device or UI.

This is not what you are hoping for but, hope this information helps you for future implementations :-)

And yes, I also voted PRO dialogs

    Hi Michel van den Brink

Thanks for pointing out the Task Flow option in the Unified Interface. Really appreciate it. I have tried that and it works on mobile and desktop.

The Taskflow still misses the following features of the dialog i use a lot

    01. Passing arguments from Dialog to Child Dialog

    02. Having Variables and Querying Data

    03. Ability to do things like  Create/Update/Assing/SendEmail/Change Status/Perform Action

    04. Not being able to have conditions with Advanced Find like queries

Hopefully Microsoft would listen to customers feedback and keep the dialog until all the feature gaps are filled.

    Thanks again for your response

I don't think they will consider this. They are working towards a unified interface for all clients and dialogs are not a good option on mobile devices.

Maybe it's better to tell them what you are missing in the options the are presenting as an alternative, as you do in the post above.

Agree here, Dialogs must stay, as there is no alternative, we need a wizard style, run on demand processes that have all features of background workflow (creating records, sending emails, conditions etc) plus UI interaction with a user.  Previous link does not work, added my version: https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=9a1f118d-998d-e911-80e7-0003ff689ebe

    Hello Kokulan,

I think Microsoft is heavily manipulating the protest of customers to keep dialogs in Dynamics 365.

Your link to your vote page for instance does not work anymore and links now to something completely different.

Back in November 2017 I started a similar vote page ideas.dynamics.com/.../ID0003211 that now also links to something completely different.

Microsoft doesn’t care about the impact of loosing dialogs once unified interface is the only option left in Dynamics 365.

Many companies still use dialogs in big numbers and they have to migrate them before October 2020 when Unified Interface is the only way forward.

    I created a new Ideas page experience.dynamics.com/.../

    Kind regards,

    Peter Wouda
