Task recorder

When generating Word document from recorded task, I end up with a blanc Word application without any document. The PowerPoint works great, but not Word. Have I missed a setup somewhere? (Using Office 2010, and last rollup for AX 2009)

    we are having a similar issue. users can create task recorder docs using powerpoint (although they are often incomplete and buggy) , but word 2010 either crashes with a generic COM error or displays a blank grey screen as if the document hasnt been created...

    running ax 2009 rollup 5 , office 2010

    we are running both AX and office in a citrix environment

    Did you solved that?

    Temporary solution is to delete the normal.dotm template and than it generates the document. However the normal.dotm template recreates after Word is closed and the issue occurs again.

    we believe this is a citrix issue for us. each user citrix session can be assigned an amount of ram, our citrix architect found some info and will be increading the amount shortly to test it.

    Hi Ted,

    Try to delete Normal.dotm file. The file is stored in the user  folder ..\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

    If I delete normal.dotm file from ..\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates folder it helps, but only untill normal.dotm is not recreated.

    Have you tried that?

    Has anyone come up with a solution to this?  We are having the same issue; and, suggesting to a client that they have to continually delete normal.dotm is not acceptable.

    It looks like a problem with the template - for example, I used to have problems with localized names of styles (but it was in alpha version, I think this has been fixed).

    Problems with the default template can be easily solved by using your own template (in Generate document dialog). The safest way is to debug Task Record, identify what exactly is causing the problem and fix it in your template. But if your customer uses localized MS Office, I would try to use EN-US template at first.
