Is there a way in GP2013 to attach a picture or file to the item inquiry screen in GP2013?

    If anyone is looking for a way to add images to any GP window, Envisage Software has a FREE  .NET utility called VSTControls that allows this and more. Check out http://envisagesoftware.com/vst-controls/

    Hi Mahmoud,

    Actually I'm working with Gp version 9.0 and I have face to a problem.When I attach a pdf to an item in item maintenance page and then go to Item inquiry page and choose the same item number to see the attached pdf,there no Note paper beside that to click on that. There is just a paper note at the bottom of the Item inquiry page that when I click on that, there is no paper click icon in the Note page to click on that and see the attached pdf,do you have any suggestion?

    Thank you

    I am getting an error that says "A save operation on table 'coAttachMSTR' has created a duplicate key.

    Can you tell me what this is and how to fix it?

    First of all, go to Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > Company > Document Attachment Setup > check the option "Allow Document Attachment"7

    Now go to Cards > Inventory > Item.

    • Choose the item that you want to attach files to
    • You will find a clips icon
    • Click on it and attach the requested file.

    Once attachment is added, the icon will change to include a "file" as shown below;

    Now, go to the inquiry window and you will be able to view the attachment (only view) as shown below;
    Hope this helps,

    How do we attach the file and once attached how do we view it from the inquiry screen?

    Attachments made to item card can be viewed from the Item inquiry. If you attach a file to the item from the item maintenance window, you will be able to view that file when checking the item at the item inquiry window.

    Otherwise, available attachment feature doesn't provide the ability to attach at the inquiry window, derived from the fact that inquiry windows are "read" only windows.
