Regarding document template

Hello Sir,

I have a requirement that generate Word template using on demand workflow in other related custom entity.

But whenever I run workflow it shows only place holders of custom entity instead of actual entity data.

But when I generate a manual word template then it shows all the fields with actual entity data.

I have tried all the possibilities , but I didn't get the solution.

please help .

Hi Manoj,

Did you refer the blog link I shared above? Using the wokflow action "SetWordTemplate" you can select the template and the record for which you need to generate the remplate. You need to ensure that you use correct template and target record. You cannot generate "Contact" template by passing PaymentReciept entity record.

"Payment Receipt " entity has a "Customer" field which is a "Contact" entity and I have to generate that template in "Contact" as an attachment in Notes.

Okay. So you have "Payment Receipt" entity on which you are running this workflow. This "Payment Receipt" entity has a field called "Related Booking" which is a lookup to "Payment Receipt" entity. Is this correct? If yes, for which record you want to generate the template against as you have Payment Receipt on which the workflow is running and another record which is selected for Related Booking?

Screenshot of the view properties as well please. That is where you need to set the target.

Hi,

It looks the target property is not getting set correctly so CRM couldn't find the entity to populate the date from and hence showing placeholders. You can verify this.
