Duplicate Key found during full .net cil on checklist for CU11 upgrade

Hello,

I am receiving the below error

"SQL error description: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]The CREATE UNIQUE INDEX statement terminated because a duplicate key was found for the object name 'dbo.LEDGERTRANSACCOUNTTMP' and the index name 'I_101142CREATEDTRANSACTIONIDIDX'. The duplicate key value is (5637144576, 5640579295, 5637147136)."

When I right click on the index, CreatTransactionID and view duplicates for the LEDGERTRANSACCOUNTTMP table, I do get many duplicates, this is an example of one.

"Number of records: 2, CREATEDTRANSACTIONID: '5640579295', LEDGERDIMENSION: '5637261640'"

Number of records: 2, CREATEDTRANSACTIONID: '5640579295', LEDGERDIMENSION: '5637257350'

Number of records: 2, CREATEDTRANSACTIONID: '5640579295', LEDGERDIMENSION: '5637257184'

The ledger dimension is the duplicate, but they each have different recids.

So my question is how can I resolve this? It worries me a bit since these are ledger related tables. I looked at my old R2 box and I did not even have this index. Then I looked at the current environment R3 CU8 and this index does exist and has the duplicates, however I have never ran into the error during a .net full cil compile in this environment. Now, I am uprading to CU11 and at the end of the software checklist I am now getting this error.

Please use the correct tags for the AX version. Your question is related to AX2012, not the current version which means AX7. I have corrected it for you as moderator.

To be able to help yu with your issue, can you tell if you have performed the steps as described in the Upgrade guide? Can you also indicate at which exact step you receive tuis error?

I actually put AX 2012 R3 and it defaulted it to current version. I did not select that.

Thank you for your response. I am actually on the database sync at the bottom of the software upgrade checklist. I have performed the steps as described in the guide. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

Hi,

In my R3 environment there is a non unique index on the field CREATEDTRANSACTIONID. Can you verify if there is a change that it is turned into an index which does not allow duplicates in your CU11 environment?

Hello,

Yes, that is exactly the case. It was able to allow duplicates before, then after CU11 it changed to not allow them. KB3135076 introduced this bug. Then this kb also introduced, KB3185561. At this point I am not sure what changing the index to allow duplicates will cause as we are still in testing. Do you have any idea if it will cause issues? Thanks

Hello,

The index is now unique and was not in previous versions. To resolve you can either avoid installing KB3135076, Trial Balance list page doesn't show the closing transaction's amount after running the Fiscal Year close, or if you have to install the KB, then you can got to the table in AX, LedgerTransAccountTmp - Indexes and change the Index, CreateTransactionIdIdx properties to Allow duplicates from No to Yes. Hope this helps! :)
