Hi everyone,

I am getting a mem_bad_pointer error in Great Plains 10. Already tried the Microsoft Hotfix WindowsXP-KB910466-x86-ENU, but when trying to run it says i already have a newer version. Is anyone familiar with this error and does anyone have a resolution? Much appreciated.

If you are getting a mem_bad_pointer error in GP you most likely have a damaged forms or reports dictionary, or a damaged Dynamics dictionary. In this case you will need to recreate your forms or reports dictionary, preferrably from a package file, or copy the Dynamics dictionary from a workstation on the same version. If the latter is not an option, you will need to reinstall Dynamics on that workstation.

I have seen Extender Enterprise Edition cause this problem in some rare cases.  If you are using eOne's Extender Enterprise, remove it from the set file and see if the problem goes away.  If so, contact their support as this has been fixed in the most recent updates.

I know this is an old question, but I just received this error. The remedy was to export the alternate modified forms/reports(if you have any). Delete reports.dic from the the data folder of the Dynamics program files directory, re-launch the application and import the forms/reports. Everything runs OK after this.
