Integration between D365 FO on-cloud with on-premise SQL server database of third party application

Hi,

I have integration scenario and I would like suggestions how to achieve it using best possible solution.

Scenario is that we have to periodically sent and receive data from D365FO to SQL server database of third party application and vice-versa. We don't have source code of that third party application so only way to get data directly from its database.

-Thanks

    Hy,

to find a well fitting design we need also to consider whether

    - the SQL server is on the cloud or OnPrem

    - what is the volumn of data, or estimated number of records, peak and average

    - what means periodically (every min, once every week ...)

    - what kind of data are transported (master data, transactions, ...)

    - is there a standard for the data to transport

Best is to know as an example would be: ~100 MB  (or ~1.000 rows) of all open Purchase lines, once a hour

    Hi Andreas,

    Thanks for reply.

Basically there is a software which runs in the shop floor which has its own database and it is on-premise SQL server.

    D365FO is on-cloud.

Volume of data - hundreds of records in one time

Periodically means twice / thrice a day.

Data would be some sort of transactional records.

Current implementation is running with AX 2012 so there is no issue of connectivity. In AX 2012, ODBC connection is used to connect the third party database.
