We have around 300 customers in our database.

we developed a BI report to extract the details of the customer

We extracted and checked , there were few customers not been listed in the reports

do we need to do any special customizing / defined in the customer master

Most likely the missing customers are in different company (DataAreaId). Other than that, it's difficult to figure out what could be wrong, since you forgot to mention any information about what you implemented and how.
