Getting Potential Customer Adress from a Quote

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

Dear all,

When we are building a quote for a potential customer we start from creating an Oportunity from which we go to all the path until the quote.

When going to the quote, we get products list we reference from the opportunity level and keep track of Potential customer.

But we would like to get the address shipping and billing information of the quote to be automatically filled from the reference potential customer account where address is all define there.

How can we do that because actually we have to fill up manually same address again ?

thanks for help

regards

There lot of ways to do this , i personally prepare mapping or real time workflow to populate address from potential customer record to quote record.

To do this by mapping fields between parent and child record follow below post

To do this by real time workflow follow below post

    Hi Sergec,

To be able to do this, you should add all these address fields in the mapping fileds of the relationship between your account and your quote.

Now, if you have a quote subgrid in your account form and you add a new quote from this subgrid. You will see that these fields are filled automatically.

unfortunatly, this can work automaticcaly only like this. So, if you want to create a quote from quotes home page and you select an account, the addresses fields will not be automatically fields although the mapping exist. To cover this case you should use plugins in addition with a specific Sdk message (InitializeFromRequest

    Hi Sergec,

When you are using manual to fill up the same address again.

Have you used the 'lookup address' function in crm quote and quote product forms?

It will 'automatically' fill the addresses based on the potential customer master after you choose the address. The users have to choose first just in case they have multiple billing address, which one will be chosen in the Quote, they choose through 'lookup address' function.

    Hi Sergec,

So you just use Lookup Address in the Quote or Quote Product forms

    lookupaddress2.jpg

and then choose the Address from Customer master.

    Hope it helps!

    Thanks.

    Hi Sergec,

Have you defined the customer address?

Ok, I am explaining, basically that lookup address is to find the addresses record associated to related Potential Customer.

When you click the lookup address, it will open the Customer Address lookup field, which is having this filter criteria:

    address2.png

    So, there are two workaround:

    1. Either you will update the filter criteria of Address lookup view

    2. Or you make sure that in the customer address, you have filled the  Address Name:

    Hope it helps you, Sergec!

    Hi,

Go to Customization --> Customize the System --> Entity Address

Then go to Views, find the lookup view, edit filter criteria (see the above picture), oke, and save then publish.

But, I think your customer address now does not have the address name value, so that when you lookup you find no data.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

For some reason, even by modifying the address lookup search criteria by replacing Adress Name by Street1 name for instance or clear existing filter, the potential customer address does not appears in Look up.

The only way to make it work that I found is to add the address name in the Account form, then set that field as required and input some text in.

Doing so make the address appears in Look up Adress

    regards

    Hi Sergec,

Glad to hear that, finally you can use the Lookup Address function, it answered your question.

    "So, there are two workaround:

    1. Either you will update the filter criteria of Address lookup view

    2. Or you make sure that in the customer address, you have filled the  Address Name:"

So, number 2 it works, right. Can you confirm or verify

Yes, it is actually, the view that will be affected only the All Customer Address and Customer Address Associated View for 1:N relationship from contact or account to addresses, not for the Quote.

    Thanks.
