Upgrading Office 2016 to 2021/2024 with Dynamics GP 2016: Compatibility Issues?

Hi,

We're currently running Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 integrated with Office 2016, and we're considering upgrading Office to either 2021 or 2024 to stay current with security updates and features. However, I'm concerned about potential compatibility problems since GP 2016 is an older version that's past its mainstream support. Has anyone upgraded Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 to work with Office 2021 or Office 2024, and if so, what were the results?

    Are you using any of the GP Features where it is integrating with Office? Such as Word Templates or emailing?
     
    If so, you will probably need to update GP to maintain compatibility.
     
    It would be wise to update GP to a supported version (for security, compatibility and all the new features and fixes).
     
    You will probably need to update your SQL Server and Windows Server versions as well.

    I agree with @David Musgrave MVP GPUG All Star Legend Moderator.  

    We are seeing the latest release of Office "break" GP Word Templates with GP releases much newer than GP 2016.  Some releases have even broken SmartList exports to Excel.
     
    I know how difficult it can be to get everything upgraded but there is risk with having unsupported versions of Windows, SQL, GP, and/or Office.
