Excel 2007 closes on FRx reports with Formatted Excel output

I am running GP10 and FRx 6.7.9111.

When I generate a report where the FRx output option is "Formated Excel (XLS, XLSX)", I get a Microsoft Office Excel message saying"

"Microsoft Office Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I have no Excel options selected under the FRx Output Options Tab, The Worksheet Options selected are Print headings, Print format rows and Print underscore rows. Also, "Replace file without warning" is selected.

All crtical updates of Microsoft Office 2007 have been loaded.

The reports are exported and I am able to open them in Excel. The problem is that this meeage keeps appearing, forcing an answer, the causing Excel to shut down and then reopen and forcing another answer as to whether Excel should be opened in safe mode.

Any idea as to what is wrong?

I would begin by asking if this happens on all computers or just that one, (in case you have the client installed and not accessing thru the server).

In case you are accessing thru a RDC connection, have you tried login in as another user to see if this replicates?

In case that the above scenario still you get the error, I would suggest you open Process Monitor from SysInternals, and start tracing at the moment of the export, and pay attention to what Process Monitor records, as there might be something that will allow you to troubleshoot the issue.

Some samples of obvious issues are (permissions on registry, on folders, temp folders, anti-virus, etc)
