Import the workflow configuration exported from Ax 2012 to D365FO

Hello Experts,

I'm expecting to move the Workflow configuration to D365FO which created from Ax 2012. I googled and found sohaib article ( http://smcdax.blogspot.com/2014/05/workflow-configuration-export-import.html). I followed and exported from Ax 2012,

But my query is how to import the same file into D365FO and will it be correct method for importing.

Please share you idea and the way to achieve this.

Hi John Krish ,

Export and import process of workflow configuration looks same in both D365 and AX2012.

Have you tested this by exporting from AX and then importing in D356? If not, please try this in UAT first and check if all setups are fine. If you already created all the users in D365 with same roles and privileges, then hopefully it should not throw any error.

Also, make sure that you have created same position hierarchy of the users in D365 (similar to AX), which could create impact based on your configuration you have done in workflow.

Kindly test and update here for any challenge.

Hi Johnkrish,

The workflow editor in D365 is identical to the editor from AX 2012.

But you need to make sure that other settings, such as user, are the same.

You can open your WF xml file in notepad to edit.

Import workflow to D365 like this:

AX 2012 and D365FO still uses the same workflow framework WWF so the file export and import should be compatible
