What defines a marketing contact in the "Quota Limits"?

In the Marketing app in the "Quota Limits" view I can see that the number of "Marketing contacts used by this organization" is 77.

Which criteria defines this number?

Reason I ask is that I would like to make a view/advanced find that retrieves these contacts. Probably also I want to fetch these contacts programmatically and automate some stuff for these contacts..
