Batch processing of orders

Firstly I am not a heavy user of Nav.

However, we routinely process 10s or 100s of orders periodically (the frequency/volume is client dependant) and this is done one by one , thus is takes quite a long time.

I would like to know how we can batch the orders and ship them in a single process.

We are selling services so there is no physical product to be shipped. Our 'developers' have claimed that this cannot be done but I am very doubtful.

The service for each order is provided for an agreed period of time eg 26 months and therefore has a start and end date and the price is either a flat daily or monthly rate (the flat monthly rate being a whole or any part of a month, so the exact start and end dates are only relevant with respect to the month and not the day)

Many thanks in advance

    Hi,

If you are asking about batch posting of orders then this option is available. You can try using Post Batch option available on sales orders.

and if you mean something else then please elaborate.

    Thanks Bilal

I always receive a message 'one or more items could not be posted'

    Thanks

    Hello,

Adding to Bilal's answer... You mention you are getting an error message. The message means that one of the Sales Orders has a problem posting the Item Sales Line. Sadly, the message does not display the actual Sales Order number. I normally tell my customers to process Batches in increments of 10 Orders to narrow the SO down.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

As steven mentioned this is error because of some issue in any of sales line. Try to post in smaller batches either by filtering on order nos or on date.

Thanks very much everyone, it seems we have rather a contorted arrangement in place which will need further work
