Change column of multiple Lead/Contact Views

Hello

we have a little problem. We had in Contact and Lead for years custom First Name,Last Name and E-Mail. We changed those now to the System Fields, but all the customs views that have been created in those years use the old custom fields. Is it possible to change in multiple views the old field to a new one or is it manuell work?

Best Regards

Daniel

RE: Change column of multiple Lead/Contact Views

    Hi Daniel,

Quick way to do is modify the xml.

1.Create one solution and the entity along with the views you want to modify.

    2. Export the solution and unzip it. In that would find a file known as customizations.xml

    3. Open the file. Search for the view name in XML. and replace the field name with new field name. Please refer attached screenshot for example

    4. Rezip the solution with modified file and import back the solution.

This is the best and quick approach if you want to avoid manual process.

Please mark the answer, if it solves your purpose.

    Thanks In Advance

    Hi Daniel,

You need to modify your views manually. You can minimize your manual actions by using the "View Layout Replicator" tool available on XrmToolBox.

Indeed, you will need to modify only one view for each entity and replicate your modification on the other views by using this tool.
