I am wondering how I can run a business rule when a record gets created.  I don't want it run after that first initial time the record is created.

Also, how can I look behind the scenes at by business rules javascript?

    Hi,

CreatedOn date is your friend here, in your business rule check if this field is populated or not if it is populated means record is created if not record is not created yet, you can run your logic using business rule.

    Thanks

For some reason it doesn't work for me.  In the business rule I added, Created On doesn't contain data, but now my calculated field isn't populated automatically on creation.  If I take the Created On out of the rule, my automated field works fine, but then I still have my same problem in the end of that it keeps doing the calculation even though someone manually types a change into the calculated field and then the user gets prompted twice to save.

OK, I got it working, but I have one other issue still happening, which is on create of the record the field that I have a calculation behind that pre-populates the value in the field, when a user wants to change this value manually (on creation of the record), and the click save or save & close then get the save pop window twice.  How can I get rid of the save pop up window from coming up twice?

Use CreatedOn Does Not Contain Data to run logic at creation vs update (eg: I lock the field after creation).

Make sure CreatedOn is on your form, otherwise it will not work.
