Service Pack Question

We are currently running GP 2010 SP3, and in order to upgrade to GP 2015, we have to apply GP 2010 service pack 4 before starting the upgrade. Is it possible to do a staggered approach to the service pack?

For the upgrade piece, we've tested out multiple clients machines updating multiple companies (we have 60+ databases), which works really well, as it hits multiple threads on our SQL server. Just curious if there is a way to do this with the service pack as well to cut the time down.

Any thoughts/theories/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

That was exactly what I was trying to confirm, Leslie.  Thank you!

    RE: Service Pack Question

    Hi,

You can indeed install the service packs by running it off of a shared file on the server. Many workstations can be running it at the same time. Also, you can use multiple workstations at a time to upgrade the databases. Of course, the machines each have to update a different set of companies. I typically do it this way if I have a large number of databases to update. Is that what you were asking?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
