AP Journal Voucher - Total not Matching

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Good morning,

We noticed a totaling issue on a journal voucher being posted by our AP dept (image attached). Normally summing all lines in the voucher will match to the "Total debit: Journal" and "Total Credit: Journal" fields. In this case it appears to have summed exactly to only the first 9 lines. This is visible from multiple accounts/machines, all previous and subsequent journals done that day all matched. We also confirmed all lines are posted to the vendor accounts, account statements show the balances as expected. Any ideas on why this would be are greatly appreciated, and is there separate cause for concern on any system postings to verify?

Thank you

    Hi SWC,

Does AX always consider only the first 9 lines in the total balance or does it happen all the time?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

No, this is the only journal we've seen do this. We have other journals 10+ lines, that all sum out appropriately.

    Thanks

    HI SWC,

In this case I would suggest that you delete the journal lines and enter it again.

If you can't replicate the issue and if it occured only one time you might not be able to get this case accepted by the MS support team and are left with the option of starting the journal all over again.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

This was already invoiced out, and the account balance report shows all vendors have their necessary lines/charges to be paid...seems like it's just a sum function happening in the journal for display that went sideways?

    Hi SWC,

If the journal is already posted there is nothing you can do.

Provided that the total fields are just display fields I would observe if the issue comes up in the future.

If the issue cannot be observed anymore, I would not put much effort in trying to analyze that as it has no effect on what is posted.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thank you, that's exactly what I told our AP gal about 15 min ago. We're on the same page, thank you!
