I'm stumped trying to create a Quarterly report using Management Reporter. For example, I want to have columns that say '1st Quarter", "2nd Quarter", etc. The problem is when I run a report for May (in June), the report includes June data in the 2nd Quarter column.
This is happening because I can't restrict the column to x:BASE like I used to be able to do in FRx. I used to say '4:BASE' for the 2nd Quarter, and it would only pick up periods 4 through 5 when I ran it for May (even though June data existed). Now, I have to say 4:6 for the 2nd Quarter, and I always get April-June.
Anybody know how to simulate the old functionality of x:BASE?

In Management Reporter 2012, I tested creating two columns with 4:BASE and 7:BASE and both columns returned correct figures, so yes I believe this should work as expected.
It is May 2014. Has this issue been fixed yet?
Not a lot of options rignt now then. You will probably want to hard code the periods for now, and it will work as desired with the next release.
Well, I guess I spoke too soon :-) It appears that the 'Include amounts in future periods' only works for the current year. For example, I have 2 columns defined: one for this year & another for last year, both with a period range of 4:6. When I run it for period 5 (with the 'Include amounts in future periods' flag turned off), the current year column correctly shows the value of periods 4 & 5, but the last year column picks up periods 4, 5, AND 6. I guess because period 6 from last year is technically not a 'future period', it gets included in the period range. Phhtt!
Ryan, that 'Include amounts in future periods' setting is just what I needed! Thanks for letting me know about it - it was buried so far in the options I probably would never have found it on my own :-)
Hello,
This looks to be a bug in the current release of Management Reporter. Currently you cannot enter a number other than 1:base. This is currently slated to be fixed in Feature Pack 2.
For now you would have to enter the specific values like 4:5. If it is currently May and not June, you may be able to use the feature "Include amounts in future periods" and uncheck the box. If you run the report for May, this should prevent the printing of June amounts even if you use 4:6.
Thanks
Ryan
