Category ID not Appearing retailtransactionssalestrans table and retail sales Report

Hello

I am working on Microsoft dynamics AX 2012 R 3 CU 10. When i open retail sales inquiry no value appears in category column. Also no value populates if i filter a specific category in this inquiry. I also found that no categoryid is being populated with transactions in retailtransactionssalestrans table. As a result i am unable to view category wise sales. Category is attached to all the items in item masters and assortment has been published properly Can anyone give any suggestions. (screen shots are attached below)

Hi bilal,

Do you have setup the Organization hierarchy setup.. can you tell me the what's purpose you attached in the Organization hierarchy.

second please check all the setup related to Product category.

1. Product category setup

2.Product category assortment

3. product category attachment.

Hi,

Category ID on RetailTransactionsSalesTrans should be populated during 'Post inventory' or 'Statement calculate' processes. If in your case it remained empty, then categories had not been not configured correctly when those processes had been running.

Also below code can be used to determine item category id - you can developers to write a job and validate if all products have correct retail category attached.

itemCategoryId = EcoResProductCategory::findRetailCategoryByItem(ItemId);

Category is attached at the time of statement posting. The inquiry is working properly now after statement posting
