Open database

Hello Team,

I am trying to open a database Navision but it is impossible.

The original configuration is:

-"A" Windows 2003 Server with Navision v. 5 installed - that it is still working

- "B" server for managing the users and the lan. It is broken and it does not work.

So I try to open the database on the server "A" with a local authentification but Navision responds "Unable to use the database so large with this program license"

Could you please help me to open the database?

I thank you in advance

    Hi,

You should use partner license to open this DB.

    hi

Based on the error message you're receiving, it sounds like the version of Dynamics NAV that you're trying to use to access the database on the "A" server does not have the appropriate license for the size of the database.

One possible solution would be to upgrade your Dynamics NAV license to allow for larger database sizes. However, since you mentioned that the version of NAV on the "A" server is version 5, which is quite old and no longer supported, it may not be possible to obtain a license upgrade for this version.

Another possible solution would be to try accessing the database with a newer version of Dynamics NAV or Dynamics 365 Business Central, which may have a license that allows for larger database sizes. However, upgrading to a newer version of NAV or Business Central can be complex and may require significant planning and preparation.

Finally, if none of these solutions are feasible, you may need to consider other options such as migrating the data to a different database platform or engaging with a Dynamics NAV consultant to help resolve the issue.

Hi, I don't think it's possible to open the database from NAV 5.0 if your license has been lost and there is no partner who can issue a new license.
So I suggest that you can try to open directly from SQL to get your data.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks

Either contact a Dynamics NAV partner or do as ZHU suggest - try open the database directly in the SQL server management studio.
