Install of Nav 2013 in a new pc

Hello experts, I am installing the Nav 2013 R2 into a new pc with windows 10 OS. So far, everything installed ok.  But I can't remember how to make the new Nav install work so when I click onto Nav client, I can specify the server:port\<navinstance>.

I am stuck with below:

1. I have restored my NAV DB in the SQL Server of my new pc.  But for some reason I am having a hard time making the Nav instance I created run.  I made sure eveyrhing is set up correctly...but the login account, I have it set up as network service.  it worked for the Nav Demo instance.  How come it doesn't work with the new Nav instance I created pointing to the newly restored Nav DB?  Could it be because I need to make some mods in the User table?  But I thought this would be only when I want t run Nav Client.

2. I remember I had to modify User Table to include my uid/pw fr the domain.  Do I have to do this?  know that when working locally, I am disconnected from our DOMAIN.  will that pose a problem.

Any other tips on how to create my dev environment when I am disconnected from our Actve Directory Domain?

Thank you.

    Hi,

Did you create a new user on the new instance you have created?

You have to run a bunch of powershell scripts to achieve this.

    -------

    #Prepare PowerShell
    Set-ExecutionPolicy unrestricted -Force
    Import-Module 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\70\Service\NavAdminTool.ps1'

    # To Add a New User
    New-NAVServerUser -ServerInstance <InsertServerInstanceName> -WindowsAccount <InsertWindowsUserName>

    # To Allocate Profile a user Login
    Set-NAVServerUser -ServerInstance <InsertServerInstanceName> -WindowsAccount <InsertWindowsUserName> -ProfileId "BOOKKEEPER"

    # To Assign A Permission to the user
    New-NAVServerUserPermissionSet -ServerInstance <InsertServerInstanceName> -WindowsAccount <InsertWindowsUserName> -PermissionSetId SUPER

    -------

<InsertServerInstanceName> - Type your NAV Instance name

<InsertWindowsUserName> - Type your Windows user name

    Hope it helps.

Hmmmn. Ok.  I will try that.  Although I remember last time, I just had to manually insert records into tables such as User and Access Control.  'but will try above and let you know.

Refer following link to setup the correct instance & database details.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh165851(v=nav.70).aspx

Further, you can start the service with local administrator account (instead of network service). This should work.

Remove all the Domain Users from User Table from SQL.
