Custom batch job stuck in waiting

Hi all,

 I have created custom batch job using SysoperationserviceController class as an object of menu item ,added simple class with "processrecords"  method as a parameters , i run the batchjob ,batch job is stucked in waiting status,how can i overcome this issue
