Has anyone tried linking the PJNOTES table with to the Travel and Expense Report so approvers can see their employees' comments from their timecards?

    Hi Chuck,

You mention the Travel and Expense report but I assume you want the comments from the expense report rather than from timecards.  Pjnotes cannot be added to print from ROI, basically because there is no noteid field in that table as there is in snotes so you can't link it to other tables to the db. Pjnotes has the Key_value field containing the Project/task/employee/date for example, so that's what poses a challenge in Crystal.

Maybe another partner will chime in who has found a way to make this work.

Thanks for getting back to me.  Yes.  We are looking for comments from the Expense Report.  We found the same issue with the Key_value field as well.

Hopefully, someone else can chime in as you noted.

    Chuck,

Have you tried concatenating the fields in Crystal, and linking to a subreport  that prints the notes.  In theory it should always work, but I have had mixed results with this method.  To control it from the ROI screen, add a logical option to the screen, and use a ShortAnswerCaption field to show or hide the subreport.  Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks for the quick feedback.  I'd be interested to hear if others have tried this solution and how their results turned out.
