I just had my Microsoft Dynamics guy here and we are trying to figure something out. My Auditor is looking for information on this entry.

This Audit Trail number that is listed, we have traced that it is actually a Batch ID but we cannot trace down this distribution reference and we are wondering if you could help us?

We can normally drill through an entry but this one we cannot.

RE: Can't drill down into GL

    Hi,

If you are accessing this entry via the Detail Inquiry window and try to drill down, what dialogs are displayed when you try to drill back to the originating transaction? The Distribution Reference field isn't going to be tied to anything because it's a user-entry field - something that the user would type in. As you have discovered, the Audit Trail code is equal to the Batch ID of the subsidiary transaction. Also something to keep in mind is that the distribution detail you're drilling down to in the subsidiary module is merely the entry that was suggested to the general ledger. This isn't necessarily the numbers that were used. So, I'm wondering, why isn't getting back to the document enough. The suggested debits and credits really shouldn't be relied upon.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
