Billing Management, Pricing Management, Subscription and Recurring Billing

Posted on by 98

With both Dynamics 365 Sales (CRM) and Dynamics NAV (BC), where are you managing billing subscriptions, products, pricing and revenue management? Completely 3rd party through integration / services or in the financial system or in CRM; or both? Is it a solution or your own customization? This is also a multi company environment; and so both leveraging billing / subscription models across companies but also individual and unique combinations?

Looking to the future for Product management, Billing management, Subscription and Recurring Billing management: what are others doing for this?  For me historically: for Dynamics SL, Dynamics GP, Dynamics NAV and Dynamics CRM this has been integral  to Service (Field Service) ledger solution to the ERP system (in the past).  With the advent of and maturity of CRM to 365 Sales and Business Central what solutions are others migrating to?  What reoccurring billing or subscription / billing management solutions are working for those of you that do this?

The environment would be for multiple companies and all using come common but mostly diverse structures but still needing revenue management and integration to financials, invoices, customer ledgers.

Currently we use both Dynamics CRM and Dynamics NAV but other than these two this is becoming limiting.

Hi, For us, CRM has pre-sales support features that NAV does not.
The functions that are generally used in CRM are Lead, Opportunities, and Sales Quote functions, but the conversion into orders is generally performed in NAV until billing. Finally, the sales are returned to the CRM for reference by the sales staff.

This is just my little experience, I hope it can give you some hints.

    Thanks.

Daniele, the subscription billing with recurring contract billing is a Dynamics 365 Finance link not a Business Central Link.  Do you know if this is also a Business Central core feature or just "Finance"?

    Hello,

Interesting question, hopefully one of the partners / MV's that work in the field can answer this question.

    Thank you.
