Inventory to fixed assets journal

In the AX 2012, I set up a fixed Assets under common/fixed assets, then try to use the inventory to fixed assets journal to transfer inventory item to Fixed asset module. However I cannot find the asset number set under common/assets. I don't why?

Have you set the acqusition and depresiation life cycle for the asset?

If any help, you can read this technet.microsoft.com/.../hh242839.aspx

    Hi JSZ,

Can you check if the status of the asset is not 'Not yet acquired' anymore? It should have an open status. Did you actually posted an acquisition value?

    Hi JSZ,

If you setup the fixed asset correctly and posted the transaction you should be able to see the fixed asset. Identifying the fixed asset under common/assets does actually not require posting something.

Probably this is a refresh problem of your form?

Also try deleting your usage data to ensure that no filter prevents you from seeing the created fixed asset.

    Hope this helps,

    Ludwig

Hi Dr Ludwig, quick question, we are currently using D365 , but is there a way to transfer an asset from inventory and create a FA number without creating an inventory to Fixed Assets journal?

    Appreciate your response.

    Thankyou

    Frenzel

    Hi Frenzel,

You can do that directly in a purchase order and do not necessarily need a Fa journal.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
