Hi expert, when I open the NAV development environment, it pops up an error saying your license will expire in xx days.
To my understanding the license does not have an expiry date and it is a little strange. Please advise! Thank you!
Typically, end customer licenses do not expire, whereas a partner or trial license have expiration dates. Check the license information from NAV to see the information for the license you are running.
You can check the license from the Object Designer (if you have access) by selecting Tools-> Licenses Information from the menu.
You can check your license from the NAV Windows client by selecting the downward arrow, in the upper left section of the Navigation Pane and choosing Help->About Microsoft Dynamics NAV and then choosing View your license information from the dialog window.
Hi, it is recommended that you open your development license (.flf) file and view Expires inside. If you are NAV2013, the file may be defined for 10 years by default, and it is estimated that it will expire soon.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Hi snoppy ,
My guess may be some developer is working on this environment, and loaded their development license and now its going to be expired, please check with your developer if this is the situations.
After the testing, I found an issue. In the RoleTailored Client folder there is a license file Cronus.flf together with our license file. The weird thing is we uploaded our own license file which is clearly showing on the license information with our company name, created date, and the list of other information like table pages etc. But if I removed Cronus.flf, I could not open the NAV DEV, which said Cronus.flf could not be found. Please advise! Thank you!
Hi, I think you can re-upload the license. If you are in the development environment, you can use Upload, which will replace the license of the environment. If you are in the production environment, you can use Change, which will only be affected in your development tools.
This is strange, one of our customer is also facing same issue. We have uploaded the license, saved the license in database, restarted the service but still the expiry message shows up.
One thing i need to check is if deleting cronus license will stop showing expiry message.
Hi Manish Sharma ,
Please try to delete this Cronus license from the drive where its has installation path. but keep the copy of this license somewhere, and check if issue resolve.
Thank you all for the advice! I tried it and it did not work. Here is the error message: The operating system cannot find the file C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\70\RoleTailored Clien\CRONUS.FLF. Verify that the drive directory and the file name are correct. I uploaded and changed and even altered the database to resave the license files, but nothing helped.
Ok, so take you license change the name of your license to Cronus.flf and take the original cronus licenece from the directly, and put your renamed flf file. then check.
Thank you very much! The trick has solved the issue!
