I'm trying to find an easy way to track fulfilled reservations that have yet to be picked/shipped in Dynamics.
Our system setup currently auto assign reservation to all orders.
Example,
We have 100 Sales Order for an item in our system. However, we only have enough quantity in our warehouse to fulfill 20 of these Sales Orders. The rest will go B.O and be shipped as we receive the necessary stock.
Now, I'm trying to get a report or find a page in Dynamics where I can easily track to which Sales Orders number's reservation the 20 quantities we have in stock have been assigned to by the system. I'm not certain why, but sometimes Dynamics does not give the available quantities in chronological order. Example, It will assign a quantity to the 50th order, and the 18th order will be without an assigned quantity in the system. This causes trouble when an order that we thought was correctly reserved with a quantity hit the Warehouse Shipment for picking and shipping.
We then have to find to which order's reservation the quantity was assigned to by the system, cancel the reservation and switch the quantity to the order we desired to ship.
I believe there must be a way to avoid these kind of problems or better track down quantity assignment for reservations?
