Good day.

I would like to know how to find Dynamics Nav schema relationship, or, for the moment, if you can help me to discover if there are relationships between this tables:

G/L Entry

G/L Account

Vendor

Business ask me to do a report to include fields from this table, but i'm not sure there are direct relationships between them.

Thanks in advance

    I have created E/R diagrams for Navision 4.0 (http://navitools.com).

    RE: Relationship between tables

    Hello Teo,

Finding the table relationships in NAV involves mostly experience - working with the tables, looking at the table definitions, etc.  But I will try to help you with your question.

The G/L Entry table contains the transactions for every G/L Account, so there is a field "G/L Account No." that is directly related to the G/L Account Table field "No.".  The G/L Account table is a master table containing static information about each G/L Account along with a bunch of flowfields.  If you're not familiar with flowfields, do some reading or ask another question.

The Vendor table contains master information about Accounts Payable vendors.  If a G/L Entry record has a "Source Type" = "Vendor", then the "Source No." field is related to the "No." field in the Vendor table.

    I hope this helps.

You can always try to examine the table relations by analyzing the records in the table and drill-down to related tables from the record fields.

You can find the G/L Account - "No." value  in G/L Entry > "G/L Account No." field.

You can find the Vendor No. in G/L Entry Table > "Source No." field (if "Source Type" = Vendor)
