Debug plugin's errors thrown by SSIS and kingswaysoft

HI all,

We are facing some errors on out ETL (SSIS and kingswaysoft) from crm's plugins and is getting hardr and harder to find them

I use to create a linqpad code to emulate the ETL action with the same values, but i have dealing with an error which is just thrown by the ETL and with the script works fine (weird)

which mechanisms do you use in these cases??

the perfect soluction would be turn on the profiler, run the ETL and save the error file somewhere instead an user using the UI (which works fine too). Is that possible??

    Hi Wahaj,

One of the problems is the Ui is not throwing the error. I write scripts in order to emulate the ETL behaviour even of the fields are not showing in the forms.

now I have to check why the UI form is not throwing the error even I included a "throw new exception("test")" in the code :(

    Hi,

If you can share exact error thrown by ETL, it would be easier to suggest a solution.

However, you can try following approaches:

    • Go through all plugin steps for the entity you are creating or updating using ETL.
    • If it is plugin's error you should able to re-produce this error within CRM as well (by creating or updating a record of this entity). No need of a script.
    • Keep in mind plugins for related entities as well (not sure if your ETL is creating/updating a related entity as well).
    • If non of above rings the bell, an adhoc approach would be to disable all steps for this entity and try running ETL. If it works fine, turn the steps on one by one and test your ETL.

    Best,

    Wahaj

Can you elaborate on 'errors on our ETL from crm's plugins'?  Is your ETL running, then triggering plugins which error?

Are the plugins custom or OOB?
