Having trouble with link clicking requiring two clicks to work

I'm having an odd problem with CRM 2011 that I'm not sure how to document that will provide much help to the community.

When I open a new form in CRM, the fist click on a link in a list doesn't seem to work.  It takes a second click for it to start working.  For example, when I open the accounts list, the first click on a company does not open the company.  It takes a second click on the company link for it to open a company. Then from that point on, the company links work on the first click until I open/refresh the account list again.

I thought it might be me clicking to fast so I tried waiting for 30 seconds after the form initially loaded, but it still happens.  This seems to be happening on any list that has a clickable link to the item.

This installation is pretty much an out of the box install and has not have many customizations yet.  It is happening with both the organizations (Dev and Test) I have set up on the server.

Has anyone experienced this or have any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Thank you,

Pat B

I've been experiencing the same issue... I always assumed it was something I was doing wrong or something bizarre with the configuration of my workstation.  I hope a solution is forthcoming as this is quite an annoying issue.

I'm not sure if this is related or not, but it appears the problem has gone away.  I had recently made some changes to our organizations. Changed the name of one and created a second organization (Test and Dev).

This seems to have caused the Email Router to go crazy because it couldn't find the old organization. This caused numerous instances of the DWWIN.EXE (Dr Watson) process to be running and constantly consuming 100% of CPU.

Once I reconfigured the Email Router, the problem went away.  CPU usage is down and more importantly the first click on a link now works.  If anyone else is experiencing this problem I suspect it may be caused by on over worked CPU.  You'll just have to figure out why the CPU is overworked and fix this problem.
