Main account currency exchange rate type

Hi, 

I am reviewing the configuration of the Main account, specifically the Exchange rate type field.

From my understanding, this setting should allow the account to use a different exchange rate type than the one defined in the Ledger. However, when I post a journal using this account, the system continues to use the exchange rate type configured at the Ledger level instead of the one selected in the Main account.

Could someone please clarify how this field is intended to work? Is it not designed to override the Ledger exchange rate type?

    The main account exchange rate is used only for the currency revaluation process.

    Moved the question from the Dynamics 365 General to the Dynamics 365 Finance forum as the terminology used indicated this product.
     
    The picture was visible in edit mode when moving the question to another forum. This confirms the product Dynamics 365 F&O. Pasting the image again for visibility.
